Anna saw a flyer for a by-donation opera in town so we went to check it out today. It took place in a big cathedral style church which was kind of fun in itself. It had been a long time since I last went inside such a building. The opera was nothing too formal and only had three actors/singers. They were all about 30 years old but extremely talented. Thankfully the opera was performed in English and it was a comic piece so it was very light hearted.

Having been through the experience now, I have to say that opera is not for me. Although the show lasted only an hour, I found myself quickly losing interest. As a huge plus, there was a big reception afterwards with all sorts of great hors d’oeuvres, wine and desserts which we think were all provided by the congregation. We may have to start attending some more events held at churches.
